How to use this USMC PFT & CFT calculator

  1. Choose PFT or CFT, enter your age on the test date and select the scoring sex and applicable PFT standard.
  2. Enter recorded performance. Use mm:ss for time fields.
  3. Review each event, your total, and the pass requirements. Save locally or print your summary.

Scoring rules and coverage

The Physical Fitness Test (PFT) scores pull-ups or push-ups, the plank and either a three-mile run or an eligible 5,000 m row. Pull-ups can earn 100 points; the push-up alternative is capped at 70, so a push-up PFT can earn at most 270 of the 300 possible points. The Combat Fitness Test (CFT) scores Movement to Contact, Ammunition Lift and Maneuver Under Fire. Each assessment has three events worth up to 100 points each, for a maximum of 300. PFT and CFT are separate tests; their scores are not added together.

Meet every event minimum as well as the total requirement. A passing score of 235–300 is first class, 200–234 is second class and 150–199 is third class. A score below 150, or a failed event, fails the assessment.

For the 2026 PFT, MARADMIN 613/25 adds a combat arms requirement. The general PFT passing requirement remains 150 total with every event minimum met. Marines in designated combat PMOS must also achieve at least 210 using the male scoring column for their age. Select Combat PMOS to check that additional requirement; it is shown separately from the general PFT pass result. This PFT selection does not change CFT scoring.

Choose your age on the test date, the applicable scoring sex and the test actually administered. This calculator scores all three events in a complete PFT or CFT. Select the applicable altitude table for run, row, Movement to Contact and Maneuver Under Fire at 4,500 ft or higher. The 5,000 m row is an option for Marines age 46 or older; below 46, a PHCP recommendation for a medical condition or postpartum status and CO/OIC approval are required. Confirm that authorization before using the row option. Use a Concept2 rower with a PM3 or newer monitor. Other modified or exempt assessments are not covered. The calculator does not determine combat PMOS applicability or medical eligibility. Your unit determines those requirements.

Source-table note: Table 3-7 contains 47 conflicting duplicate cells for female Marines age 31–35 in high-altitude Maneuver Under Fire scoring (PDF page 78). This calculator follows the explicitly printed minimum of 4:52 = 40 points on page 77 and awards zero beyond that minimum. The original PDF is preserved; no replacement points are invented.

Frequently asked questions

Can a high total still be a failing result?

Yes. Missing an exercise minimum means the assessment does not pass, even if the total reaches your goal. A personal target is separate from the official passing standard.

Does changing age or sex change the points?

Yes. The calculator selects the corresponding official table. The combat PMOS PFT check uses the male column for your age. CFT continues to use the selected age and sex.

Where are my measurements and results saved?

Only in this browser when you choose Save. One snapshot per calculator is stored locally; restoring it recalculates the raw results with the recorded profile. We use Google Analytics to understand site visits. This site's analytics code does not send your entered measurements, scores or snapshots.

Is this an official military calculator?

No. PT Score Kit is independent and unaffiliated with the U.S. military. It applies published tables for planning; your assessment administrator and official service records determine the result of an actual test.
